Gerardo Zamora meets with Peronist organizations regarding 2027 elections
National Senator Gerardo Zamora met with leaders from the National Table of the 62 Peronist Organizations at their political headquarters in Buenos Aires. During the meeting, union leaders requested that the labor movement recover the level of representation in party lists and structures historically granted to unions by the Justicialist Party (PJ).
The discussions included the potential presidential candidacy of Zamora for the 2027 electoral cycle. Union representatives expressed deep concern regarding Argentina’s political, social, and economic situation, specifically highlighting indicators related to the current labor market. They also addressed the gradual displacement of union leaders from decision-making roles within Peronism.
José Ibarra, general secretary of the 62 organizations, and Rubén Ledesma, general secretary of the West Zone Commerce Employees Union, emphasized Zamora’s political trajectory and his potential to serve as a unifying figure within internal Peronist disputes. They called for the restoration of the traditional practice of including a union third in the formation of future electoral and legislative lists.
