Gerdau reports 44% profit growth in third quarter

Gerdau announced a significant increase in its third-quarter financial results, reporting a net profit attributed to controlling shareholders of R$ 1.55 billion, a 44% increase compared to the same period last year. On an adjusted basis, the company recorded a net profit of R$ 1.52 billion, up 39.7% year-over-year.

Total revenue rose 3.9% to approximately R$ 18.7 billion. This growth was driven by rising prices in North America, which offset lower sales volumes in Brazil and the impact of a 5.7% depreciation of the US dollar against the Brazilian real. The company's adjusted EBITDA reached R$ 3.77 billion, representing a 37.8% increase over the previous year.

In North America, the company's primary cash generator, adjusted EBITDA grew by 60% to R$ 2.9 billion. Conversely, adjusted EBITDA in Brazil saw a 2.8% decrease, totaling R$ 741 million. Total steel sales for the period were 2.91 million tons, a 5.6% decline from the previous year.

Following the financial results, Gerdau's Board of Directors approved dividend payments of R$ 0.34 per share for both common and preferred shares. The total distribution is estimated at approximately R$ 667 million, with credits scheduled for November 10, 2026, and payments starting December 15, 2026.
