Gergely Gulyás considers future in politics

Gergely Gulyás, the former Fidesz parliamentary group leader who resigned in July, is weighing his political future. He stated that he will decide soon whether to remain a Member of Parliament, noting that his long-term place in politics is not certain.

Due to term limit restrictions introduced by the Tisza government, Gulyás would be unable to run in the next parliamentary elections regardless of his decision. While Viktor Orbán has indicated that Gulyás is tasked with leading a newly forming constitutional cabinet to protect the Christian-national constitution, Gulyás clarified that the system is still being established and he has only received a request to lead it.

Currently, Gulyás has no specific political tasks within the party and has been frequently absent from parliamentary sessions. He noted that while he remains a member of the Constitutional Committee to oversee legislation, his continued presence in Parliament is still under consideration.
