Gerhard Delling denies involvement in Block child abduction trial
Gerhard Delling, a former sports presenter and partner of entrepreneur Christina Block, has denied all allegations of involvement in the alleged kidnapping of Block's two children. Testifying before the Hamburg District Court, the 67-year-old defendant stated he had no knowledge of the planned abduction and that the legal proceedings have severely impacted his life.
Christina Block, daughter of the founder of the Block House steakhouse chain, is accused of hiring an Israeli security firm to kidnap her children from their father, Stephan Hensel, in Denmark. The children were reportedly moved through southern Germany before arriving in Hamburg. The case stems from a long-standing and bitter custody dispute that began in 2021.
Delling testified that the children shared a close bond with their mother and that he never witnessed any violence against them. He described the emotional despair of Block, noting he had never seen such intense grief.
