German agencies warn of phishing scams targeting broadcast fee and DKB bank customers

Consumer protection bodies have issued alerts about phishing emails that masquerade as official communications from the German broadcasting fee (Rundfunkbeitrag). The messages promise fictitious discounts for advance payments and include a request for an immediate bank transfer to a provided IBAN, attempting to trick recipients into sending money.

A separate warning from the Verbraucherzentrale focuses on DKB bank customers, noting that scammers are sending emails designed to extract sensitive personal and banking information. Recipients are advised to verify the sender, avoid clicking links or opening attachments, and contact the bank or the broadcast fee authority directly if in doubt.
