German Airbus A400M Atlas aircraft circles Croatian airspace

A German Airbus A400M Atlas military transport aircraft has been circling Croatian airspace, specifically over the Bilogora and Slavonia regions, for several days. The aircraft operates at an altitude of approximately 7,000 meters and a speed of 500 kilometers per hour.

While official statements from the Croatian Ministry of Defence regarding the specific purpose of these flights were initially pending, unofficial information suggests the presence of the German aircraft is related to joint exercises involving personnel from both the German and Croatian Air Forces. The Slavonia region is noted for its open terrain, which is suitable for various flight activities.

The appearance of the large transporter has drawn public attention due to ongoing discussions regarding Croatia's involvement in a NATO project for a joint fleet of strategic transport aircraft. While Croatia has expressed interest in participating in a working group for this project, the activity is currently identified as military training.
