German airport Memmingen denies entry to Albanian travelers over work‑tool luggage

A 25‑year‑old Albanian passenger arriving from Tirana on a flight to Memmingen Airport was stopped by German border police. Officers found work‑related items in his hand luggage and discovered that his return ticket had been cancelled, leading them to suspect he intended to work illegally in Germany. His entry was refused and he received a two‑year ban from the Schengen area.

Two other men traveling on the same flight, aged 23 and 32, were also denied entry because they could not demonstrate sufficient financial means or travel health insurance; one of them was found carrying prescription medication subject to narcotics regulations. Earlier, a 39‑year‑old traveler from Sarajevo was turned away after police found hair‑dresser tools in his luggage and determined he lacked the required visa or residence permit. The German border police said the checks aim to prevent unauthorised employment.
