Aachen World Equestrian Championships: Germany sweeps vaulting medals
The FEI World Equestrian Championships in Aachen have seen significant results in vaulting and eventing. In vaulting, Germany dominated the individual female competition, securing gold, silver, and bronze. Alice Layher claimed her first senior individual world title, followed by Kathrin Meyer in second and Annemie Szemes in third. In the male individual competition, France’s Quentin Jabet took gold, while Germany’s Bela Lehnen secured the bronze medal.
In the eventing discipline, four-time Olympic champion Michael Jung has taken the lead in the individual standings following a strong cross-country performance with his horse, Chipmunk. Jung currently holds a narrow lead over British competitors Rosalind Canter and Laura Collett heading into the final show jumping phase. The German team remains in contention for a silver medal in the team standings, while Great Britain maintains the lead in the team eventing competition.
