German athletes win medals at Para-cycling World Championships in Huntsville

German athletes have achieved a successful start at the Para-cycling World Championships in Huntsville, Alabama. Maximilian Jäger secured a gold medal in the T2 class tricycle time trial, winning his second world title by a margin of 1.01 seconds over Great Britain’s Calum O’Neill.

Additional German successes on the opening day included bronze medals for Angelika Dreock-Käser (T2) and Daniel Ulmann (H3). In para-rowing, the PR2 class duo of Jasmina Bier and Paul Umbach won gold, while Maximilian Rühling and Naveen Shah earned silver in lightweight rowing.

Amid high temperatures and humidity in Alabama, German athlete Anja Renner and her guide Antonia Milowsky are also competing. Renner expressed hope that the intense heat might provide a competitive advantage, as she and her guide have been acclimatizing to the conditions in the United States ahead of the road races.
