German athletics clubs celebrate medal haul at weekend championships
Athletes from FC 05 Schweinfurt and DJK Schweinfurt won multiple medals at the Bavarian block‑multievent and hurdles championships, including silver for Greta Henninger and Jan Dengel in the block‑throw and a bronze for Simon Baunach in the U16 1500 m hurdles. Their performances also yielded personal bests that meet German championship standards.
VfL Sindelfingen athletes posted several season‑best and personal‑record results in events across Germany and Greece. Jannis Gartmann set a new U20 400 m hurdles record (52.21 s) and helped the German 4×400 m relay achieve a world‑year best of 3:09.74. The club’s 4×100 m quartet ran 40.46 s, while individual sprinters such as Florian Reichl (11.69 s) and Abigail Adjei (13.77 s) posted strong times. In Dresden, Eric Maihöfer threw a winning 20.15 m in the shot put, and Sabrina Heil recorded a 56.12‑second personal best in the 400 m hurdles, moving closer to European championship qualification. Additional solid performances were recorded at meetings in Pfungstadt and other venues.
