German authorities conduct border arrests and customs seizures

Law enforcement agencies in Germany conducted several successful operations over the weekend involving border controls and customs inspections.

At the A93 border crossing near Kiefersfelden, the Federal Police identified approximately 20 individuals attempting to enter the country with forged documents or without required paperwork. Several people were arrested, including a 20-year-old Lithuanian man wanted on a European arrest warrant for economic crimes, and a 32-year-old Iraqi national facing penalties for driving offenses. Additionally, officers intercepted individuals using falsified Romanian and Spanish identification documents.

Separately, customs officials at Munich Airport intercepted a man over the age of 30 attempting to bypass declarations. Upon inspection of his luggage, officers discovered 130 cartons of cigarettes. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the individual, and the contraband has been seized.
