German automotive market shows recovery as VW Golf leads registrations
The German automotive market is showing signs of movement, with new car registrations in August exceeding those of the same month last year. According to data from the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA), the Volkswagen Golf remains the most popular model in Germany, with 5,239 new registrations. However, the lead is narrow, as the Volkswagen T-Roc followed closely with 5,112 registrations, reflecting a growing consumer preference for compact SUVs and crossovers over traditional compact cars.
In the Chinese market, Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLE L. Detailed registration data for various manufacturers shows significant shifts in volume; for instance, Mercedes saw a 30% decrease in total registrations compared to the previous year, while the smart brand saw a 30% decline, though the smart #5 model showed a 73% increase.
