German badminton players advance at HYLO Open

German mixed doubles pairs Marvin Seidel and Thuc Nguyen, along with Stine Küspert and Isabel Lohau, have advanced to the quarterfinals at the HYLO Open in Saarbrücken.

Seidel and Nguyen secured their spot after a challenging match against Danish pair Rasmus Espersen and Anna-Sofie Nielsen, winning 21:17, 22:20. They are set to face French world champions Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue in a rematch of last year’s quarterfinals.

Küspert and Lohau also progressed following a victory over Indonesia’s Rachel Rose and Febi Setianingrum, winning 21:14, 21:19. Their next opponents in the quarterfinals will be Denmark’s Kathrine Vang and Mette Werge.

In singles competition, German champion Yvonne Li was eliminated in the first round after losing to France’s Rosa Pancasari in three sets: 21:13, 18:21, 19:21.
