German bands Die Toten Hosen and Rue Oberkampf announce new musical projects

The German punk rock band Die Toten Hosen has announced their farewell with the release of a double album titled ‘Trink aus, wir müssen gehen!’. The album features a mix of punk rock songs and anthems addressing social issues such as the rise of the political right. Frontman Andreas Frege, known as Campino, stated that the decision to end the band's 45-year career was driven by a long-standing gut feeling rather than a lack of energy.

In other music news, the Munich-based band Rue Oberkampf has announced their new album, ‘Wehmut’, scheduled for release on October 15, 2026. The album is inspired by the nature of the Bavarian Forest and themes of melancholy and human existence, incorporating influences from post-metal and zeitgeist.
