German banks boost new‑customer Tagesgeld rates above 3%

A recent Verivox analysis shows that 19 German banks are now offering new‑customer Tagesgeld (daily‑deposit) rates of at least 3 %, up from 13 banks earlier in the year. The highest headline rate of 3.5 % is provided by Raisin for a three‑month term, while Suresse Direkt Bank and Consorsbank each offer 3.4 % for four and three months respectively. Existing customers continue to receive a much lower average rate of about 1.32 %.

Because these promotional rates are time‑limited, the effective annual yields are lower. The best effective annual rates currently range from 2.39 % (Raisin) to 2.75 % (BBVA, which offers 3 % for six months plus a conditional follow‑up rate). Other offers with solid year‑long rates include Bforbank and Scalable Capital at 2.5 % effective. The competition among banks follows a brief period of stagnation in 2025, prompting a renewed race for new deposits with short‑term high‑interest incentives.
