ARD's 'Polizeiruf 110' Leads Sunday TV Amid Sports Broadcast Shifts

The ARD repeat of the crime series Polizeiruf 110 episode “Diebe” drew 4.4 million viewers and secured a 21 % market share, giving the public‑service channel a Sunday‑night lead even though there was no live football World Cup coverage.

In the same slot, pay‑TV provider Sky broadcast the Formula 1 British Grand Prix to an average of 740 000 linear viewers, achieving a 6.6 % overall share and a 16.4 % share among younger audiences. ProSieben’s DTM race from the Norisring attracted about 470 000 viewers and a 9.2 % share, marking a strong performance for motorsport on free‑to‑air TV.

Other German broadcasters adjusted schedules for the World Cup. ZDF postponed its regular Saturday crime slot to 22:00 to show the Canada‑vs‑Morocco round‑of‑16 match, while the ARD continued its Sunday crime tradition, replacing the usual Tat‑Ort with Polizeiruf 110. The combined programming changes highlight how major sporting events influence German television line‑ups and ratings.
