Handball-Bundesliga enters new season with extended Dyn media deal

The German Handball-Bundesliga is entering a new season marked by significant media developments and roster changes. The streaming service Dyn has extended its central rights agreement with the league until 2032. Dyn founder Christian Seifert noted that while the platform has seen substantial growth, there remains massive untapped potential to convert large audiences from international tournaments into daily league viewers.

On the competitive front, SC Magdeburg enters the season as favorites. Other major clubs are undergoing transitions: THW Kiel will compete without European matches for the first time in 33 years, and Füchse Berlin is managing significant departures. SG Flensburg-Handewitt is undergoing a radical rebuild following the loss of several world-class players, aiming to return to the Champions League. Despite high-profile signings like Aymeric Minne and the upcoming arrival of Portuguese internationals, the club faces immediate injury concerns involving players such as Luca Witzke and Kent Robin Tønnesen.

Additionally, the league is introducing a new official, uniform match ball to ensure consistent playing conditions across all venues.
