German Butchers' Association Day opens in Mainz

The 136th German Butchers' Association Day opened in Mainz, featuring remarks from Rhineland-Palatinate Minister President Gordon Schnieder. Schnieder emphasized the importance of small businesses to national prosperity and praised butchers for providing local supply, vocational training, and maintaining regional value chains.

To support the industry, the state cabinet has introduced reliefs regarding reporting and documentation obligations. Additionally, the government plans to integrate vocational orientation earlier in schools, including two mandatory internships in middle and upper secondary levels, to better introduce students to various professions.
