German-Catalan Association faces internal rift over censorship claims

The German-Catalan Association (DKV) has experienced significant internal conflict following allegations of censorship regarding the 30th German-Catalan Colloquium held in Bremen. The event, which focused on Catalonia's struggle for self-determination, was preceded by claims from the Assemblea Nacional Catalana (ANC) that certain presentations regarding national liberation were being suppressed. The ANC suggested potential interference from Spanish diplomacy.

The crisis led to a deep fracture within the DKV. Three of the four board members—Teresa Pinheiro, Benjamin Meisnitzer, and Silke Hünecke—issued a statement defending their actions, denying any censorship or Spanish interference, and justifying the association's temporary withdrawal from the colloquium. However, the fourth board member, Bàrbara Roviró, and other members have challenged this position, highlighting the ongoing internal dispute.
