German childcare institutions celebrate major anniversaries

Several childcare institutions in Germany recently celebrated significant anniversaries.

Kindergarten Höngen marked its 100th anniversary on May 30, 2026. The facility, which began in 1926 as a 'childcare school' run by religious sisters, held a commemorative festival featuring a service led by Pastor Roland Bohnen. The event included a tombola to benefit the kindergarten's support association.

In Rothenbergen, Kita Sonnenschein celebrated 30 years of operation on August 22, 2026. The anniversary event featured activities for children, including a bouncy castle provided by the Rothenbergen fire department, interactive theater, and musical performances by the Eintracht Rothenbergen children's choir.
