German choir Neuer Kammerchor Heidenheim to perform free concerts in Brazil

The German choir Neuer Kammerchor Heidenheim, consisting of 60 members, is visiting the Inconfidentes region in Brazil to perform free concerts in Itabirito and Ouro Preto. The visit commemorates the 53rd anniversary of the local group Canarinhos de Itabirito and marks a reunion between the two ensembles approximately ten years after their first exchange.

In Itabirito, the performance will take place on August 25 at 19:00 at the Cine Teatro Liz Bastos as part of the III Encontro de Corais de Itabirito. The Canarinhos de Itabirito will open the event, followed by the German choir conducted by Maestro Thomas Kammel. The following day, the group will perform in Ouro Preto at the Basílica Nossa Senhora do Pilar.

The repertoire for the tour features a mix of classical works by composers such as Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, and Anton Bruckner, alongside contemporary choral pieces and pop covers, including songs by Coldplay and Rihanna.
