Craiova hosts Europe's largest Christmas market
The Christmas market in Craiova, Romania, has been recognized as the largest in Europe, covering an area of 280,000 square meters. Named the most beautiful Christmas market by European Best Destinations, the event runs from November 13, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
This year’s theme is the ‘Land of Elves,’ featuring over 90 decorated chalets, a 40-meter Ferris wheel, an ice rink, and a flying Santa Claus attraction. The market offers a wide variety of culinary options from across Eastern Europe and Southeast Europe, including dishes from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Greece, and Turkey.
