German cities host Chinese Culture Weeks in September 2026
German cities Dortmund and Düsseldorf will host dedicated Chinese Culture Weeks in September 2026, featuring a variety of traditional and contemporary activities.
In Dortmund, the Auslandsgesellschaft and the German-Chinese Society will organize events from September 21 to 27. The program includes martial arts and health practice sessions such as Qigong, Taiji, and Kungfu. Other highlights include a lecture on wolves by Sebastian Koerner, a screening of the film ‘Hero’, and the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival on September 26, which will feature music and insights into traditional herbal medicine.
Düsseldorf will host its Chinese Week from September 12 to 19. Organized by a network of local Chinese institutions, including the Confucius Institute Düsseldorf and various sports clubs, the event aims to showcase the diversity of Chinese culture through calligraphy, Tai Chi, film screenings, and culinary offerings across the city's streets, cinemas, and restaurants.
