German Cities Host Free Summer Organ Concerts in Leipzig and Amberg

From June through September 2026, the Michaeliskirche in Leipzig will host a series of half‑hour midday organ concerts, featuring students from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig on the historic Sauer organ.

On 1 August, the 15th Amberger Organ Music concert will be held at the Schulkirche in Amberg, with organist and custodian Johannes Berger performing works by Bach, Pasini and Hakim. Both events offer free admission and aim to promote young musicians while preserving Germany’s rich church‑music tradition.
