German cities host large public music events June 2026

On 20 June 2026 the Deutsche Symphonie‑Orchester Berlin organised the 12th Berliner Symphonic Mob at the Forum in the Center am Potsdamer Platz. The free, open‑air event invited up to 1 300 amateur and professional musicians from across Germany to play together with the DSO, the Rundfunkchor Berlin and guest conductor Kazuki Yamada. Pieces ranged from Brahms to Bizet and participants received a commemorative T‑shirt.

A week earlier, the Stadtkapelle Hanau opened its 2026 outdoor season with a free open‑air concert in the town centre. Under the motto “Musik ist Trumpf”, the ensemble performed alongside a youth band and highlighted the importance of community support, noting assistance from the Sparkasse Hanau foundation and the Lions Club. Both events emphasised inclusive, participatory music making in public urban spaces.
