German clubs block defender moves for Geertruida and Bornauw
RB Leipzig has set a transfer price of around €20 million for Dutch defender Lutsharel Geertruida, making a return to either Feyenoord or PSV unlikely this summer. The club, which currently has a 35‑player squad, aims to cut down to about 28 players and therefore expects several departures, but is not prepared to lower the fee for Geertruida, who is under contract for three more years.
Hamburger SV, meanwhile, is scouting Belgian centre‑back Sebastiaan Bornauw as a potential replacement for Luka Vuskovic, whose loan from Tottenham Hotspur ended. Bornauw, after limited game time at Leeds United in the Premier League, could return to the Bundesliga where he previously played for Köln and Wolfsburg. HSV sees him as a viable defensive reinforcement for the upcoming season.
