Germany observes seasonal harvest festivals and community events
Various communities across Germany are observing seasonal traditions, including Harvest Festival (Erntedankfest) celebrations and local community outings.
In St. Marien, the community held an Erntedank celebration featuring a church service, a blessed harvest crown, and activities such as a potato olympiad and creative workshops for children. In Holzheim, approximately 140 people gathered at Burg Heistard for an open-air harvest service led by Pastor Thorsten Schmitt and Deaconess Jutta Lindenfels.
Other regional activities included a 42-kilometer bicycle tour organized by the Liesborn Heimatverein through the Altkreis Lippstadt region, and a recognition event in Dittelbrunn for over 50 volunteers from the Schweinfurt Nord-West pastoral area. Additionally, the Evangelical-Lutheran community in Berlin-Mitte and the St. Johannis Harvestehude church in Hamburg held services related to the harvest season.
