German communities install defibrillators to improve emergency medical safety

Local communities in Germany are enhancing emergency medical preparedness through the acquisition of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

In Fernwald-Steinbach, the sports club FSV 1926 Fernwald has installed a PRIMEDIC HeartSave Y AED at its sports grounds. The project, initiated by board member Volker Wallbott and supported by the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe, was funded in part through donations on the Betterplace platform. The device is intended to improve survival chances during sudden cardiac arrests for athletes, members, and visitors alike.

Similarly, in Nindorf am Walde, a new defibrillator has been made available near the local grill house. The initiative was driven by the Nindorf am Walde Volunteer Fire Department and funded through community efforts, including a flea market and donations from the Nindorf village community and Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude. The Wildpark Lüneburger Heide is providing the location and covering the annual maintenance costs through a German Red Cross service package.
