German community projects deliver holiday gifts and sports integration for children

In the Bavarian town of Burgebrach, children from the Berthold‑Scharfenberg School and the Heilpädagogische Tagesstätte of Lebenshilfe Bamberg created paper Christmas ornaments with personal wishes. More than 200 gifts were collected and distributed to 28 classes and 26 day‑care groups just before Christmas, a gesture praised by Mayor Johannes Maciejonczyk and local officials.

Separately, former professional tennis player Alina Stroiu runs a sport‑and‑integration programme for native and refugee children in the Starnberg area. The project, organized by the Asyl‑Helferkreis, offers games, outings and coaching to promote health and social skills. It relies on monthly donations of about €500 for facilities, equipment and supervision.
