German companies prioritize cyber security and IT modernization

According to a Lünendonk study regarding the IT services market in Germany, 55 percent of surveyed companies plan to increase their IT budgets in 2026 despite economic constraints.

Cyber security is the primary investment priority, with 92 percent of companies planning to increase spending in this area over the next two years. This trend is driven by rising regulatory requirements and new AI-based attack methods. Additionally, 74 percent of CIOs are prioritizing IT modernization to replace legacy systems that no longer meet current requirements.

Other key areas of focus for 2026 and 2027 include digital sovereignty, employee training in new technologies, and the integration of artificial intelligence to improve process efficiency.
