German concert halls prepare for major anniversaries in 2027

Major German concert halls are preparing for significant upcoming milestones. The Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2027. Since its opening, the venue has become an international architectural landmark designed by Herzog & de Meuron. By the anniversary date, it is projected to have hosted approximately 7.4 million visitors for 6,600 events, with the Plaza observation deck attracting 29.5 million guests.

In Essen, the Philharmonie Essen has announced a special collaboration to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the football club Rot-Weiss Essen. On February 24, 2027, the Bergische Symphoniker, conducted by Mihalj ‘Miki’ Kekenj, will perform a concert titled ‘Nur der RWE – Sounds of Hafenstraße’. The program will adapt traditional fan chants and melodies into classical arrangements, featuring club legends and current players.
