German couples celebrate major wedding anniversaries

In Germany, two couples are celebrating significant marriage milestones. Walter and Josefine Obermeier from Nandlstadt are celebrating their ‘Iron Wedding’ after 65 years of marriage. The couple, who married in 1961, celebrated the occasion surrounded by their family, including eight great-grandchildren.

Meanwhile, in Witzenhausen, Elfriede and Erich Grund are marking their 70th wedding anniversary, known as a ‘Gnadenhochzeit’. The couple met at a fairground dance in Hundelshausen and married on August 11, 1956.
