German court presses murder trial of Gina H. over eight‑year‑old Fabian's death

The Landgericht Rostock is conducting a murder trial against Gina H., the step‑mother of eight‑year‑old Fabian, who was killed on 10 October 2025 (or 2026 in some reports) and whose body was found in a pond near Klein Upahl. Prosecutors allege that Gina H. stabbed the child multiple times and disposed of the body, later setting the site on fire.

During recent hearings, the court corrected a detail concerning Gina H.'s online searches: a previously reported Google query for a missing person was later clarified as having been made only after she was informed by the father. Additional search terms, such as “Fressen Wildschweine tote Menschen,” remain part of the evidential record.

Witnesses include local men who were led to the crime scene by the defendant. Olaf K., a neighbour, is scheduled to testify about the night he was taken to the pond with Gina H. The defence has so far invoked the right to silence, and the trial is set to continue on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
