Gina H. faces trial for the murder of 8‑year‑old Fabian in Güstrow

The Landgericht Rostock is hearing the murder trial of 30‑year‑old Gina H., accused of killing her 8‑year‑old stepson Fabian in Güstrow, Mecklenburg‑Vorpommern. Prosecutors say Fabian was stabbed six times on 13 October 2025 and his body was set on fire; the defendant allegedly informed a friend of the find, delayed reporting to police, and led officers to the site the next day. A neighbor, Heike M., testified that the defendant said “Wir haben ihn gefunden. Er ist tot” and later collapsed in the courtroom.

Gina H. has remained silent, but her lawyer announced she will give a personal statement after the summer recess, scheduled for 6 August 2026, with further hearing dates throughout August and September. The trial has attracted nationwide media attention and the court will also hear police officers and forensic experts in the coming weeks.
