German courts have issued sentences in two separate cases involving fatal high-speed driving incidents.

The Darmstadt Regional Court sentenced 32-year-old Edin D. to seven years in prison following a fatal speeding incident in Offenbach. The defendant drove at speeds of at least 126 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, resulting in the deaths of three people, including a nine-year-old girl. While prosecutors had requested a life sentence for murder, the court convicted him of illegal street racing with fatal consequences.

In a separate case, the Bergisch Gladbach District Court sentenced a juvenile driver to two years of probation for a fatal accident in Kürten, near Cologne. The accident, which occurred in August 2025, involved a vehicle traveling at maximum speed that collided with a tree, killing four teenagers aged 14 to 19. The driver was found guilty of illegal street racing with fatal consequences, negligent homicide, and driving without a license.
