German craft chambers address labor policy and generational leadership

Representatives from German craft chambers recently convened in Dortmund for the autumn conference of the employee vice-presidents of the German Craft Chamber Day (DHKT). The meeting brought together 34 representatives from across Germany to discuss current issues in craft and educational policy, focusing on the perspectives of employees, apprentices, and labor representatives.

In a separate regional initiative, the Handwerkskammer Mannheim Rhein-Neckar-Odenwald is hosting a workshop on October 5, 2026, focused on intergenerational leadership. The event aims to address demographic challenges such as skilled labor shortages and aging workforces by providing strategies for managing diverse age groups, from Baby Boomers to Generation Alpha.
