German crime series launch new episodes on 3sat and ZDF
The long‑running German police drama Polizeiruf 110 aired a new episode titled “Hexen brennen” on 3sat. The story follows Chief Commissioner Doreen Brasch as she investigates a body found burned at the foot of a hill after a Halloween celebration, uncovering a clash between local women’s spiritual group and the male townsfolk.
ZDF debuted the ninth installment of its regional crime series Erzgebirgskrimi, “Die Tränen der Mutter”. Detectives Robert Winkler and Karina Szabo investigate the death of 24‑year‑old Timo Barthel, whose body was discovered in a forest near the Czech border. Their inquiry leads into a cross‑border drug network, involving a local dealer, the mayor’s family, and a reclusive woman living in a camper who found the body.
Both episodes highlight contemporary German TV crime storytelling, blending local settings with murder mysteries.
