German crime series Nord bei Nordwest and SOKO Wismar release new content

German television crime series are seeing significant updates and new releases for the 2026 season. The series ‘Nord bei Nordwest’ has aired four new episodes on Das Erste, including ‘Pechmarie’, ‘Blindgänger’, ‘Das dritte Grab’, and ‘Bei Einbruch Mord’.

ZDF’s long-running series ‘SOKO Wismar’ is entering its 24th season. The new episodes begin with the investigation into the death of an apnea diver found on a beach in Wismar. The production features cast changes, including the departure of Latvian officer Eddi Jansons and the introduction of Bulgarian actor Yassen Atanassov as Theodor Petkov.

Viewers have noted various production errors in ‘SOKO Wismar’, such as seasonal inconsistencies involving vegetation and mismatched scenery. Despite these technical slips, the series maintains a consistent narrative structure where initial suspects are typically cleared through forensic evidence.
