German curling teams secure early season victories
German curling teams have reported a successful start to the new ice season following competitive performances in Canada, the United States, and Norway.
Team Kapp achieved significant success during a tournament series in Canada, securing first-place finishes at both the Saville Shootout and the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard. The team also earned fifth-place finishes at the Saville Grand Prix and the Okotoks Classic.
The mixed doubles duo of Tiuliakova and Totzek reached the quarterfinals at the Guelph Early Bird and the Madtown Double Down, as well as the semifinals at the Moncton Super Series. Additionally, Team Messenzehl secured a fifth-place finish at the Oslo Cup.
These performances serve as preparation for the upcoming European Curling Championships, which will be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, from October 27 to November 1, 2026. The tournament will feature twelve men's and twelve women's teams competing under a new World Curling competition structure.
