German Customs welcomes new trainees and students
New cohorts of trainees and students have begun their careers within the German Customs service. On September 1, 2026, several regional customs offices held swearing-in ceremonies for their new personnel.
At the Landshut Main Customs Office, 31 individuals started their training, including 23 in the middle service and eight in the higher service. The higher service follows a three-year dual study program leading to a Bachelor of Law, while the middle service involves a two-year training period.
Similarly, the Frankfurt (Oder) Main Customs Office welcomed 18 new recruits, consisting of 13 in the middle service and five in the dual study program for the higher service. These trainees will undergo theoretical instruction at specialized educational centers in Plessow and Rostock before beginning practical phases within the customs office.
