German rider Florian Lipowitz wins Tour of Slovenia overall

Florian Lipowitz captured a landmark victory at the 2026 Tour of Slovenia. He won the queen stage over the Vršič Pass, taking the race lead, and then secured the final stage from Litija to Novo Mesto with a solo attack, finishing 24 seconds ahead of teammate Laurence Pithie. Lipowitz edged out Italian Giulio Pellizzari by 42 seconds to claim the overall classification and also won the mountain jersey. The win marked his first professional victory in more than two years; he said, “I’m super happy to have a win. It took now two years.” The German rider praised his team, adding, “This is an impressive week for the whole team.” Red Bull‑Bora‑Hansgrohe dominant in the race, logging its 25th win of the season.
