German documentary ‘Alrededor del Paraíso’ to premiere in Paraguay

The German documentary ‘Alrededor del Paraíso’ is set to premiere in Asunción, Paraguay, on Thursday, August 27, at the Multiplaza cinema. The free screening will feature director Yulia Lokschina and the production team, followed by a debate.

Filmed in Caazapá, the documentary explores the lives of young Paraguayans and the German migrant community in El Paraíso Verde. Lokschina noted that while the project initially focused on the German settlement, the scope expanded to examine the dynamics between European migrants bringing capital and lifestyle changes and the local South American population.

Additional free screenings are planned in various locations, including Caazapá. A press conference will be held on the morning of the premiere at the Paraguayan-German Cultural Institute (Goethe Zentrum) in Asunción.
