German documentary filmed in Caazapá premieres in Paraguay

The documentary ‘Alrededor del paraíso’, directed by German filmmaker Yulia Lokshina, is premiering with a series of free screenings in Paraguay through August 29. Filmed in Caazapá, the film explores the parallel lives of two distinct groups living in the same territory: local Paraguayan youth and the German migrant community in El Paraíso Verde.

The film examines themes of identity, migration, and future aspirations by contrasting the different realities and dreams of these two groups. Director Yulia Lokshina will participate in public discussions following the screenings.

The exhibition schedule includes events at the Goethe-Zentrum, Cine Multiplaza, the Universidad Nacional de Asunción in San Lorenzo, and Cine de Barrio.
