German education programmes spotlight digital skills and future creative tools
The expedition d mobile exhibition visited the Friedrich‑Abel Gymnasium in Vaihingen on 16‑17 July 2026, offering students hands‑on experience with artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, 3D printing and virtual reality. The event is part of the COACHING4FUTURE programme, jointly supported by the Baden‑Württemberg Stiftung, the Südwestmetall employers’ association and the Federal Employment Agency, with the aim of boosting digital competence among pupils in career‑selection years.
Separately, the Hochschule für Gestaltung’s Master programme in Strategic Design partnered with the stationery manufacturer Staedtler to examine how creative tools may evolve by 2035. The research explores the impact of digitalisation, AI and hybrid analog‑digital workflows on creative work, proposing scenarios and strategies for integrating future tools while preserving critical thinking and mental health.
Both initiatives illustrate Germany’s focus on preparing young people and professionals for a digitally transformed labour market.
