German fan identified after viral shouts during Adeyemi match
Steven Pawlowicz, a fan from Nuremberg, has been identified as the individual behind viral shouts directed at footballer Karim Adeyemi during a match between Germany and Greece in Augsburg.
During the game, Pawlowicz witnessed other spectators insulting German national players. In an attempt to drown out the insults, he began shouting phrases such as ‘Get him’ and ‘Karim, next sprint’ toward Adeyemi. Unbeknownst to him, he was sitting near TV broadcast microphones, causing his voice to be captured repeatedly during the ARD television coverage.
The incident gained significant traction on social media, with video clips of the shouting receiving millions of views. Pawlowicz learned of his viral status via a phone call while traveling home from the stadium.
