German far-right influencer seeks U.S. funding for media network

A German far-right influencer has applied for funding from the U.S. State Department to establish a new media network focused on political content. The applicant, a 25-year-old supporter of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, intends to launch the “Freedom Alliance of the West.”

The proposed network would include a social media channel and involve collaboration with polling institutes, alternative media outlets, and lawyers specializing in free speech cases. The influencer applied under a U.S. State Department program designed to support European organizations addressing topics such as national sovereignty, free speech, and the impact of migration.

Known for her engagement with Elon Musk on the social media platform X and her previous stance as a climate change skeptic, the influencer reportedly applied for political asylum in the United States last year. A decision regarding the funding application is currently pending.
