German female filmmakers showcase works in Brasília
The film exhibition “Elas dirigem 2026. Edição Brasília” will take place at Sesc Estação 504 Sul from November 10 to 14. The event features five films directed by German women, including works by Natja Brunckhorst, Christina Tournatzés, Constanze Klaue, Milena Aboyan, and Sonja Heiss.
The selected films address diverse themes such as violence, family relationships, inequality, and individual freedom. Notable titles include “Karla,” which received awards at the 2025 Munich Film Festival, and “Esmurrando o mundo,” a winner of the German Cinema Peace Prize. The program aims to promote equity and highlight female perspectives through various genres, including comedy and drama.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between the German Embassy in Brazil, Goethe-Zentrum Brasília, and Sesc-DF. Sessions are free and scheduled for 18:30.
