German fire departments acquire new emergency response vehicles
German fire departments in Freienhufen and the Wesermarsch district have expanded their technical capabilities with new specialized vehicles.
The Freienhufen local fire brigade officially received a TLF 3000 tank firefighting vehicle, purchased for 70,001 euros. The 2015 model, previously used by the Rostock professional fire brigade, features a 3,000-liter water tank, 300 liters of foam agent, and modern LED lighting. The vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission and a water cannon that can be operated from the six-person crew cabin.
In the Wesermarsch district, the Kreisfeuerwehr and the Hammelwarden volunteer fire brigade have commissioned a new swap-body vehicle (WLF) with a technical rescue container (AB-Rüst). Built on a MAN chassis, the vehicle is designed for difficult terrain and allows for the flexible transport of specialized equipment. The container includes a loading ramp, light mast, and removable trolleys containing equipment for technical rescues, railway accidents, and high-performance dirty water pumps. The vehicle was deployed shortly after its commissioning during a major fire in Brake.
