German fire departments showcase operations in Neckarsulm and Helmstedt

On 24 July 2026 the Neckarsulm fire department hosted a municipal‑council day, inviting Mayor Steffen Hertwig and local councillors to tour the fire station, view training rooms, youth‑fire‑brigade facilities, vehicle halls and specialised equipment. Demonstrations included live drone feeds, flood‑protection gear and a new multi‑purpose boat on the Neckar river.

A week later, on 30 July 2026, the senior members of Helmstedt’s fire brigade visited the Löffelmann slaughterhouse in Rennau. The tour, organised by Andreas Siegemund and Philipp Eichler, gave participants insight into animal‑receiving, processing, hygiene standards and meat‑smoking operations, followed by a communal meal provided by the slaughterhouse and the fire‑brigade’s support association.
