German firms broaden alternative‑fuel stations and launch car‑pool platform

The Westfalen Group in Münster is expanding its network of fuel stations to supply a full spectrum of alternative drive energies, including electricity, hydrogen, bio‑LNG/CNG and conventional fuels. It also offers wall‑box hardware, a digital billing system and a combined service card that lets users both refuel and charge vehicles. "We support both private persons and companies to find the right solution," said Sandra Schütte, head of Mobility at Westfalen.

The transport ministry of Baden‑Württemberg has introduced the digital platform Mitfahren‑BW, a meta‑search portal that helps residents locate and arrange car‑pool rides. The service is intended to lower private‑vehicle traffic, reduce emissions and strengthen sustainable mobility in the state.

Both initiatives aim to advance Germany's mobility transition and contribute to national climate targets.
